Uses:
Slippery
elm may induce sleep if taken at night. May be used to assist with
cystitis or irritation of the urinary tract. May boost the adrenal
glands. Can assist with soothing of mucous membranes. May be useful in
the treatment of respiratory conditions including bronchitis, coughs,
irritation of the pharynx chest disorders as well as sore throats. May
be of great assistance with gastro-intestinal disorders such as
dysentery, enteritis, gastric catarrh, gastritis, gastrointestinal
irritation, mucous colitis. May neutralize stomach acids as well as
reduce over-activity in the bowel.
Directions to use:
Infusion: 1-2 teaspoons in as little palatable fluid as possible. Drink three times per day.
Poultice: Mix with boiling water to make a past.

Generally
considered to be safe. Stay within recommended dosages. Do not use if
pregnant or lactating. Consult with a medical practitioner before use.
