Maca increases
energy and supports the immune system. Good for anaemia, chronic
fatigue syndrome, impotence, fertility, menopausal symptoms, and
menstrual problems. It increases the body’s production of oestrogen but
does not appear to contain plant oestrogens or hormones. Has an effect
on the thyroid and pineal gland. Improve libido in men and woman,
symptoms of menopause, mood. Positive effect on energy and sport
performance. Effect on cognitive performance. May reduce prostate size.
Directions to use:
Generally,
comes in capsule or powder form. The strength of the active ingredients
in Maca Root varies, yet the typical dosage is 500mg twice daily. The
powdered Maca Root preparation is usually taken as 1 tablespoon per day
or between 1.5g – 5g daily.
Safety precautions:
Do not use if pregnant or lactating, and thyroid issues.
